Vaginitis
Supplements studied for vaginitis.
Overview
Aloe is the only supplement studied for vaginitis, applied as a vaginal cream in one small trial. In postmenopausal women with vaginal thinning, a vaginal cream containing aloe gel reduced dryness, burning, and pain during sex, with effects reported as similar to estrogen cream in this study.
Aloe carries low effect-size, evidence, and trust ratings based on this single small trial. Whether results apply to other causes of vaginitis is not established. See the heatmap and evidence review below for trial details.
