Overview
Milk Thistle is the only reviewed supplement for drug-induced hepatotoxicity (WA 52, nine studies, low effect, evidence, and trust). Oral milk thistle may improve liver test results in people exposed to some toxins or medications, including certain acne drugs, multiple sclerosis treatments, and tuberculosis therapies.
However, it did not appear to help liver damage caused by all medication classes in the available research. Overall evidence remains low trust and mixed by drug type. See the heatmap and evidence reviews below for trial-by-trial detail.
