Overview

All four reviewed supplements have low trust from single small trials. Aloe mouthwash (50%, three times daily) slightly improved dry mouth versus saline in people with type-2-diabetes. Ginger rinse (25%) gave modest relief versus saltwater, though taste may have affected blinding.

Melatonin pills plus rinse delayed severe radiation-related dry mouth by about two weeks but did not prevent mild or moderate xerostomia. Yohimbine 18 mg daily improved antidepressant-related dry mouth in one small study; yohimbe bark effects are unknown. See the heatmap and evidence reviews below.
