Oral cancer
Supplements studied for oral cancer.
Overview
Green Tea (WA 52; low effect size, high evidence, medium trust) has low-strength observational evidence linking regular intake to roughly 20–30% lower oral cancer risk, with each additional daily cup associated with about 6% lower risk; green tea appears more protective than black tea in available research. Panax Ginseng (WA 44; low effect size, low evidence, medium trust) has one small study suggesting a ginseng-containing mouthwash may reduce bacteria and improve gum health in oral cancer patients versus other rinses.
Most evidence is observational and low-rated. Neither supplement has intervention-trial support strong enough for reliable conclusions.
