Bronchiectasis

Supplements studied for bronchiectasis.

Overview

Only N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is indexed for bronchiectasis, with one low-rated study (WA 32) for effect size, evidence, and trust.

In adults with bronchiectasis, oral NAC 600 mg twice daily for one year lowered flare-up risk by 59% compared with as-needed treatment alone. For every eight people treated with NAC regularly, roughly one additional person remained flare-up free over the year versus those not taking NAC on schedule.

This finding comes from a single trial and needs replication. See the evidence review below for details.
