Supplements studied for psychosis.
Overview
Taurine is the only supplement studied for psychosis, with one small trial. When added to antipsychotic medication in young adults with first-episode psychosis, taurine reduced positive symptoms such as hallucinations. It did not improve negative symptoms or cognitive problems associated with psychosis.
