Overview
Only Aloe is indexed for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (1 study; WA 40; low effect size, low evidence, low trust). It is uncertain whether aloe alone helps people undergoing stem cell transplants. One trial tested a combined treatment with aloe and colostrum, taken by mouth and as a mouthwash, alongside regular transplant care.
That combination slightly reduced the risk and duration of severe mouth sores and fevers compared with past cases, but it did not affect hospital stay or pain scores. Because aloe was not studied alone and the comparison was historical rather than randomized, evidence remains very limited. See the evidence review below.
