Cerebellar ataxia

Supplements studied for cerebellar ataxia.

Overview

Ashwagandha has one small trial for cerebellar ataxia in this review. Participants took ashwagandha three times daily for one month alongside Ayurvedic treatments and showed improved balance compared with their status before treatment began.

Because multiple interventions were used simultaneously and there was no isolated supplement control group, it is uncertain whether ashwagandha itself contributed to the improvement. Overall evidence is preliminary and insufficient to support ashwagandha specifically for cerebellar ataxia based on current data. See the evidence review below for details.
