Supplements studied for scleroderma.
Overview
Two supplements have been studied for scleroderma, each in a single small trial. Gamma-Linolenic Acid (1 study) taken for six months did not reduce scleroderma symptoms compared with placebo. Garlic (1 study) at 900 mg daily for one week in women with scleroderma did not improve blood vessel function, though it reduced blood clotting and increased hand and foot skin temperature.
