Seizures
Supplements studied for seizures.
Overview
Magnesium (2 studies) has been examined in relation to epilepsy and febrile seizures. Observational data show lower magnesium concentrations in hair samples from affected patients compared with healthy controls. The potential role of magnesium in seizure prevention—particularly during pregnancy when levels naturally decline—remains theoretical, and therapeutic dosing and efficacy have not been established.
