Overview

Taurine (3 studies) has been examined mainly in energy drinks combined with caffeine and vitamins rather than as a standalone supplement for sleep deprivation. These combination products may reduce sleepiness, improve driving performance, and speed up reaction times in tired people. Taurine with caffeine may also improve reaction times in sleep-deprived surgeons during simulation, though it does not reduce mistakes.
